JVET
The Joint Video Exploration Team (JVET) of ITU-T VCEG (Q6/16) and ISO/IEC MPEG (JTC 1/SC 29/WG 11) is studying the potential need to include 360-degree video coding technologies in a future video coding standard. The JVET has established a 360Lib software package that can perform projection format conversion between various projection formats as a standalone conversion tool, or in combination with encoding and decoding using HM or JEM reference software.
This document provides the Terms of Reference for a Joint Collaborative Team (JCT) established according to Annex A to Recommendation ITU-T A.23 and ISO/IEC JTC 1 Standing Document 3. This team will be known as the ITU-T/ISO/IEC Joint Video Experts Team (JVET).
This document describes Exploration Experiments (EEs) planned to be performed between JVET-G and JVET-H meetings in order to get better understanding of technologies considered for inclusion to the next version of JEM, analyze and verify their performance, complexity and interaction with existing JEM tools.
ITU-T VCEG (Q6/16) and ISO/IEC MPEG (JTC 1/SC 29/WG 11) are studying the potential need for standardization of future video coding technology with a compression capability that significantly exceeds that of the current HEVC standard (including its current extensions). The groups are working together on this exploration activity in a joint collaboration effort known as the Joint Video Exploration Team (JVET) to evaluate compression technology designs proposed by their experts in this area.

This document defines common test conditions (CTC), conversion practices and software reference configurations to be used in the context of HDR/WCG video coding experiments after the 6th JVET meeting. These common test conditions are recommended for use in technical contributions to the 7th and following JVET meetings, as applicable.
