CDVS
This document describes the Compact Descriptors for Visual Search (CDVS) Test Model (TM) 10.0. In particular, this document looks at the TM architecture, the operation of the informative component technologies (descriptor matching and retrieval) of the TM, and the offline or training procedures for both the normative (descriptor extraction) and the informative (descriptor matching and retrieval) component technologies of the TM.
This part of the MPEG-7 standard specifies an image description tool designed to enable efficient and interoperable visual search applications, allowing visual content matching in images. Visual content matching includes matching of views of objects, landmarks, and printed documents, while being robust to partial occlusions as well as changes in viewpoint, camera parameters, and lighting conditions.
