DASH:

Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) is a modern, overt-the-top streaming system standardized by ISO/IEC MPEG 23009-1. Content is typically stored in segmented MP4 Files and delivered over TCP/HTTP. Addressing of individual segments is achieved by issuing HTTP byte-range requests. The byte offsets of these segments are stored in a segment index box ('sidx') that is placed directly after the movie header ('moov'). The following examples are encoded and segmented according to the DASH standard. Since DASH allows for client driven bit-rate adaptation, each set of files is encoded in multiple bit-rates and accompanied by a manifest, the Media Presentation Description (MPD), that contains all necessary information to establish a DASH session.

  • ▼ Audio_Only_Stereo_Dash.zip (Size: 8.1 MB)
This zip contains a stereo HE-AAC and AAC-LC audio only DASH set featuring multiple audio bitrates. Use this set to test audio bitrate switching in a dash ready player.

  • ▼ Audio_Video_Stereo_Dash.zip (Size: 137 MB)
This zip contains a stereo HE-AAC audio with AVC Video DASH set featuring multiple audio bitrates and one video track. Use this set to test audio bitrate switching in a dash ready player together with playing a video track.

  • ▼ Audio_Video_5_1_Multichannel_Dash.zip (Size: 249 MB)
This zip contains a multichannel (5.1) HE-AAC audio with AVC Video DASH set featuring multiple audio bitrates and one video track. Use this set to test 5.1 multichannel audio bitrate switching in a dash ready player together with playing a video track.

  • ▼ Audio_Video_7_1_Multichannel_Dash.zip (Size: 305 MB)
This zip contains a multichannel (7.1) HE-AAC audio with AVC Video DASH set featuring multiple audio bitrates and one video track. Use this set to test 7.1 multichannel audio bitrate switching in a dash ready player together with playing a video track.

  • ▼ Audio_Only_Stereo_Adaptive_Bitrate_Switching_Reference.zip (Size: 11.4 MB)
This zip contains reference files without the DASH-Framework, but with a "pre-build" adaptive bitrate simulation applied. It features a defragmented stereo HE-AAC audio only MP4 File for decoder tests and a decoded stereo only wav file to verify the result of the decoder test.

HE-AACv2 Profile Level 6 test streams:

"ISO/IEC 14496-3:2009 AMD 4: New Levels for AAC profiles" adds new Levels to the AAC profiles as well as additional 7.1 multichannel downmix capabilities and new speaker configurations to the AAC world. Following test streams will especially test these new features:

  • ▼ iop_test_data_from_sony20131022.zip (Size: ~165 MB)
The zip archive contains documentation of the test settings (.pdf), 4 AAC-LC bitstreams (aac_71chFH_*.aac respectively *.mp4), 4 HE-AAC bitstreams (heaac_71chFH_*.aac respectively *.mp4) and the corresponding decoded wav files (7.1 channel output as well as 5.1 and stereo downmixes).

  • ▼ 14496-3_AMD4_streams_fhg_20131008.zip (Size: 87.5 MB)
The zip contains documentation of the test stream configurations (.pdf), 2 subfolders (aaclc and heaac) with bitstream (*.mp4) files and corresponding decoded wav files (3 versions: orig number of channels, downmix to 5.1 and downmix to stereo).
