MMT Developers’ Day

MPEG Media Transport (MMT) has progressed to be IS stage in March, 2014. 4K/8K UHDTV services in Japan will be launched based on the MMT specifications. In other countries such as Korea and China, implementation of MMT is now under way.

Considering the situation, MMT special session at 109th MPEG meeting in Sapporo is planned in order to share the MMT development situation. In this special session, there are some presentations and demos about the MMT implementation to share the MMT development situation.

Brainstorming panel discussion session on future video coding

As planned at MPEG 109 (Sapporo, JP), a brainstorming panel discussion session hosted jointly by MPEG and VCEG will be held in conjunction with their upcoming meetings in Strasbourg, France. The event will be held on Tuesday 21 October at 2:00 p.m. (1400 hours) and will be open to interested parties.

The session will begin with brief remarks by invited panel guests from some of the key members of the video industry community, followed by Q&A and open discussion of the topics.

The 2nd MMT Developers’ Day Program

MPEG Media Transport (MMT) has progressed to be IS stage in March, 2014. The 1st MMT Developer’s Day was successfully held at the previous Sapporo MPEG meeting. In some countries such as China, France, Israel, Japan, and Korea, development of MMT is now under way.

In order to share the MMT development status, the second MMT special session is hold.
