Internet Video Coding
This working draft is the specification of a technology referred to as MPEG Internet video coding, which is under study toward potential development as a new video coding standard.
This document describes a "test model" design for testing of technology for the proposed new video coding standard known as Internet video coding (IVC).
This document provides a working draft text toward development of a new video coding standard known informally as Internet video coding (IVC).
This document is a second working draft for a potential new video coding standard known as Internet Video Coding. Its development is currently categorized as an "exploration" activity rather than as a formal part of the work programme for standardization.
The 9th IVC test model (ITM 9.0) was specified by decisions taken at the 108th MPEG meeting in Valencia from 31 March to 4 April 2014. This document serves as a source of general tutorial information on ITM and also provides an encoder-side description of ITM 9.0. The purpose of this text is to help understanding of ITM software though brief descriptions of IVC design are provided. The corresponding sections of the IVC draft specification should be referred to for any descriptions regarding normative processes.
