Main results of Vancouver meeting
MPEG-1
- The corrigendum has been approved. The activity is closed
MPEG-2
- Progression of some two Amendments and one Corrigendum.
MPEG-4
- Part 5 (Reference Software) of MPEG-4 version 1 has been approved as a
FDIS.
- Part 4 (Conformance Testing) of MPEG-4 version 1 has been approved as a
FCD.
- Deutsche Telekom and HHI have donated a real time software MPEG-4 Video
decoder (in executable form) for use within IM1.
- The following Video verification tests have been carried out
- MPEG-4 Temporal Scalability in Core Profile;
- Advanced Coding Efficiency ACE (former Main Plus)
Profile In Version 2;
- MPEG-4 Advanced Real Time Simple Profile (Error
Robustness, Temporal Resolution Stability);
- MPEG-4 Coding Efficiency for Low and Medium Bit rates
- Parts 1, 2, 3, 6 of MPEG-4 version 2 have been promoted to FCD (formally
FPDAM) level.
- MPEG-4 Audio version 2 verification tests wikll be carried out in
December 1999
- IBM has donated an MPEG-4 prototype authoring tool for use by MPEG
members.
MPEG-7
- A new version of the MPEG-7 XM (eXperimentation Model) has been produced
- Several Core Experiment documents have been produced
- A first version of the DDL (Description Definition Language) has been
produced
Others
- A new Group "Multimedia Description Scheme (MDS)" has been
established
- The Systems and Delivery groups have been combined
- Future MPEG meetings will be held at
