  1. To draft an informative annex to 13818-2 describing proper editing practices, including the expected use of the progressive_frame flag, and issues related to the source frame rate for display on progressive-scan devices,
  2. To generate test bitstreams to facilitate experiments on whether the use of additional flags to signal the source frame rate will impact the operation of existing decoders for the purpose of making available those bitstreams to decoder manufacturers,
  3. To develop test procedures to evaluate the operation on existing decoders,
  4. To review proposals that address the problem of conveying information about the source content through the editing and encoding processes, to assist the display process and

  5. Propose text for channel set up and management for MPEG-4 over IP.

N2878 Ad-hoc Group on MPEG-4 Intellectual Property Management & Protection (MPEG-4 IPMP)
Mandate:
  1. Work on IPMP Implementation Studies with ISG and Im1;
  2. Provide an example implementation to furtherance the understanding of the IPMP »hooks« and the interaction between IPMP Systems and MPEG-4 A/V coding engines;
  3. Find possible candidates for the Registration Authority for IPMP-Systems as described in §8.3.2.5 of the FDIS;
  4. Work on »Advanced IPMP Descriptors« and try to decide if such work is needed;
  5. Work on possible interface descriptions between IPMP and MPEG-4 A/V coding engines and to try to decide if such an activity is within the scope of WG11.
