  3. Develop the audio descriptor framework by further identifying & classifying audio descriptors;
  4. Identify any new potential MPEG-7 audio core experiments;

N3265 Ad Hoc Group on MPEG-7 Media/Meta DSs and Harmonization with Other Schemes
Mandate: 1. Perform validation of the Media and Meta DSs with existing practices through harmonization with
  1. SMPTE Metadata Dictionary
  2. Extended Dublin Core
  3. OpenSMEF
  4. others

The harmonisation will map the elements with MPEG7 existing DSs and Ds. Depending on the standard under consideration, attributes values may need to be considered. The mapping will allow to find commonalties and gaps. The guidelines document (with examples) is due 15th April (by chair). Deadline for harmonisation document 22nd May.

2. Follow up the CEs in order to keep track of the MedMet implementations and validations.

3. Update the Content Management (MedMet) DSs based on validation with existing practices and related CEs, and check MedMet DSs compliance with DDL.

Mandate: To assess the additional relative and absolute complexity of AC prediction tool in the "streaming video profile" SVP by considering typical implementations on media, general purpose processors and ASICs providing measurements according to what specified in document N3270 "Specification of measurements for AC complexity evaluation"

To investigate modifications of the criteria for conformance for the SVP, to avoid over-engineering of decoders, by bounding the maximal number of I MBs per second requiring AC prediction.

Mandate:
  1. Check that the DDL provides sufficient mechanism to express MPEG-7 link.
  2. To refine the subset of XML Schema and the extensions necessary to satisfy MPEG-7 DDL requirements.
  3. To release version 2.0 of the DDL WD document in 3 weeks. The new version will reflect the move from the DDL to XML Schema Language.
  4. To continue building the DDL parser and developing the interface to the XM;
  5. To continue assisting and advising the DS and D groups with encoding their Descriptors and Description Schemes in the DDL and to refine the DDL as required to satisfy their requirements;
  6. To resolve any DDL open issues which include:
  • links to procedural code, thesauri and ontologies,
  • binary encoding of MPEG-7 descriptions;
  1. To continue the liaison with W3C’s relevant working groups. This includes:
  • continued tracking of XML Schema developments;
  • investigation of how to extend XML Schema to satisfy MPEG-7 requirements;
  • encoding of MPEG-7 DSs and Ds in the most recent versions of XML Schema language;
  • input of specific MPEG-7 requirements to the XML Schema W3C Working Group;
  • dissemination of relevant W3C WG documents back to MPEG-7.
  1. To develop a web site containing informative and educational material pertaining to the use and application of the DDL. This will include such things as a tutorial, FAQ, examples, best practice guide.

  1. (a) To revisit MPEG-7 requirements and consider additions, if any, in the light of the TVA requirements and provide feedback to TVA requirements, (b) To check the completeness of MPEG-7 tools for the TVA application.

  3. To identify the specific sets/subsets of MPEG-7 description schemes that are directly applicable to TVA metadata and communicate the findings to TVA.
