2. Presentation session on MPEG and its working method (MPEG 101) will be held on Sunday 2006/04/02T18:00.
3. Some ad hoc groups will meet on the week end before the meeting.

Overview and Dates

The MPEG Swiss Meeting will take place from April 1st to 7th 2006 in Montreux/Switzerland, under coordination of SwissMedia.

SwissMedia – Swiss ICT and Multimedia Association is a non-profit organization developing and helping the entrepreneurship by offering marketing, communication and information tools for SME’s and start-ups companies. Conferences and meetings organization is part of the regular work of the association. SwissMedia is located in the SwissMedia-Center, ICT Technopark in Vevey/Switzerland.

 The meetings will start at 9am on Saturday, April 1st and end on Friday, April 7th in the evening.

Montreux Convention Center

Situated in the heart of Montreux, directly beside Lake Geneva, the Congress Centre offers much more than just conference space. This exceptional venue, accessible on foot from the town's hotels, extends over 18'000m2 of flexible space. In addition to its modern facilities, the centre offers a comprehensive range of technical, logistical, PCO and organizational services.

Meeting rooms and other facilities

For the MPEG  Meeting, the following rooms will be available:

• 1 plenary meeting room for 250 sitting places

• 3-4 secondary rooms  for 60-100 sitting places

• 7-8 commission rooms for 30-40 sitting places

All rooms will be equiped with:

• Multimedia projection equipment

• Computer

• Sound and micro equipment

• Flipcharts

• Wireless access to Internet

Other facilities:

• Secretary desk and business center

• Internet coffee

• 7 days meetings

• Coffee-breaks (twice a day)

Registration fees :

• 400 €  - earlybird – until  February 15, 2006  (12 PM)

• 450 €  - after the above date

Registration will start January, 2006.

Hotel accommodation:

Rooms have been negotiated with hotels close to the venue in Montreux.

The rates will vary between 70 €  and  140 €  including breakfast.

Reservations:

Hotel  reservations can be made online in the same time as the registration.

All participants will have to pay directly the hotel bill at their hotel.

Deadline for hotel reservations:  January 31st, 2006

After this deadline, attendees have to make their own and direct hotel reservation.

All the hotels are located within 5 minutes walking distance from the Convention Center.

All accommodations are to be paid individually and directly to the hotel.

Accomodation made after the 1^st of march will be majored by 25 euros per reservation.

Head towards Lausanne on the A1 motorway. Take the Lausanne interchange to the A9 direction Simplon-Grand St-Bernard. Exit at Montreux, go down to the lake and turn left.

Take the A9 motorway in the direction of Simplon-Grand St-Bernard, exit at Montreux, go down to the lake and turn left.

From Zürich : 2 hours
A1 motorway in the direction of Bern-Basel-Dietikon to the Geneva-Lausanne-Neuchâtel sign, motorway A12, interchange direction Vevey, motorway A9, Montreux exit, go down to the lake and turn left.

Visa for Switzerland – Invitation Letter

The organization will provide an Invitation Letter on demand. This letter will be send after registration and payment of the meeting fee by credit card.

The request form for Invitation Letter has to be fulfill, signed and send by postal mail to the Headoffice of the meeting.
