1436 Adhoc group on Reducing NBC Prediction Complexity

1497 Adhoc group on MPEG-4 Low Delay Evaluations
Mandate: 1. Review the delay and latency requirements found within the Requirements and Profiles documents and propose specific requirements and values as appropriate.
2. Identify and propose mechanisms to improve VM support for a Low Delay Mode.
3. Coordinate the development of evaluation criteria for analysis of MPEG-4 video core experiments relative to delay considerations.
4. Coordinate with the Test SG concerning Low Delay aspects of the July 1997 test. Obtain test material for low delay Audio/Visual test, coordinate the production of A/V test material, and develop latency reporting requirements for the July 1997 test.
5. Interface with the ITU-T LBC Experts Group relative to delay considerations.

1506 Adhoc group on Video VM Padding Complexity
Mandate: The mandate of this ad-hoc group is to investigate reduced complexity motion compensation padding techniques for use in the video VM. The ad-hoc will provide complexity figures for three methods of boundary padding and two methods of extended padding that are being investigated in core experiment O2. These are:

1. Macroblock-based repetitive padding (VM 4.0)
2. Reduced complexity macroblock-based repetitive padding (new)
3. Morphological padding (O2, Chicago)
4. Macroblock-based extended padding (VM 4.0)
5. Macroblock-based extended padding during prediction (new demand driven method)
