Mandate:
  1. Produce MPEG-7 WD 1.0 by resolving open issues described in MPEG-7 Systems WD 0.5.
  2. Develop solution for the carriage of metada on MPEG-2 transport.

N3394 AHG on MPEG-7 DDL
Mandate:
  1. To refine the subset of XML Schema and the extensions necessary to satisfy MPEG-7 DDL requirements.
  2. To investigate the development of a DDL parser based on an existing XML Schema parser;
  3. To continue assisting and advising the DS and D groups with encoding their Descriptors and Description Schemes in the DDL and to refine the DDL as required to satisfy their requirements;
  4. To resolve any DDL open issues which include:
  • Encoding of large matrices ;
  • Related/Interdependent DSs and Ds ;
  1. To continue the development of a web site containing informative and educational material pertaining to the use and application of the DDL. To improve the FAQ and input it to the next meeting.
  2. To continue the liaison with W3C’s relevant working groups. This includes:
  • continued tracking of XML Schema developments;
  • investigation of how to extend XML Schema to satisfy MPEG-7 requirements;
  • input of specific MPEG-7 requirements to the XML Schema W3C Working Group;
  • dissemination of relevant W3C WG documents back to MPEG-7.

N3395 Ad Hoc Group on binary and dynamic MPEG-7 data representation
Mandate:
  1. Finalize the technical requirements for dynamic MPEG-7 data representation (textual and binary);
  2. Investigate how existing solutions may solve these requirements (KLV encoding, binary XML, ASN1 and ASN1 BER, SMPTE 298M…);
  3. Propose a Core experiment process for the evaluation of dynamic representation of MPEG-7 description (textual and binary).
  4. Analyse and harmonize existing proposals for managing dynamic descriptions and dynamic schema (M6106, M6061, DDL based approaches).
  5. Contribute to the WD of MPEG-7 Systems on the dynamic representation of MPEG-7 data (textual and binary) starting from M6061 and M6106.

Mandate: To address the following issues pertaining to MPEG-7:
  1. Carry out the CEs in docs N3403–N3405.
  2. Develop the audio descriptor framework by further identifying & classifying audio descriptors;
  3. Identify any new potential MPEG-7 audio core experiments;
  4. Further develop the MPEG-7 audio core experiment procedure and identify applications as bases for evaluation and for promotion to industry;

Conduct any other audio-related MPEG-7 business; and promote MPEG-7 Audio to industry and within the audio research community.

Mandate:
  1. Study MPEG-7 profiling using the TVA application as a test case. Specifically:
  • What is normative behavior for an MPEG-7 compliant appliance? (e.g., parsing only, or parsing and validation, or parsing and validation and more)
  • What needs to be specified in MDS, Systems, and AV Descriptors in order to facilitate interoperability and control of complexity in MPEG-7 devices?
  • What is the burden of not having profiles in MPEG-7 on providers, equipment manufacturers, and consumers?

2. To link with the Ad-Hoc group on Integration (Nxxx) for information exchange.

3. Report back results of MPEG-7 based technology submissions to TVA
