MPEG-2
- Even though MPEG has no role in patents,
the group was informed that Dolby will provide a one-stop
licencing services for MPEG-2 AAC patents.
MPEG-4
- The "Narrow band audio
broadcasting" verification tests have been
successfully completed.
- A new workplan for MPEG-4 Verification

version 2 standard has been approved. This contains:

- MPEG-4 File Format
- AAVS
- Intellectual Property Management

- A new Verification Model for SNHC version
2 has been approved. This contains:
- Body Animation
- 3D model coding
- An experimental editor of MPEG-4 content
has been offered by Jean-Claude Dufourd (ENST)
MPEG-7
- Further progress has been made on the way
to evaluate MPEG-7 proposals.
- An Advance MPEG-7 Call for Proposals has
been published
- A further Call for Content has been
issued.
- The offer of Lancaster University (UK) to
host the February 1999 MPEG-7 test has been accepted.
